Frequently Asked Questions
Ceremony scripts receive unlimited edits until the first of the month of the wedding (example: if your wedding is on October 24th, you will receive unlimited edits until October 1).
All other writing services receive (2) sets of edits.
A travel fee is assessed if the event takes place 50 miles outside of 19107.
Ceremonies taking place outside PA, NJ, and NY, please email eventsbyljs@gmail.com to obtain a travel fee estimate. Travel fee estimate includes airfare/train fare, accommodations, and transportation.
Officiant Services: Lauren has designed her comprehensive finals meeting to address, troubleshoot, and resolve any issues rendering a rehearsal unnecessary. If you feel you would still like a rehearsal following your finals appointment, one can be added for $250.00 and travel fees, if applicable.
Wedding Planning Services: Rehearsals are included with the partial-planning and full-service planning packages. However, they can be added for an additional $250.00. I am happy to provide a consultation regarding whether a rehearsal is needed.
Pricing for officiant services begins at $350.00. Pricing for writing services (such as vow curation, speech writing, or stationery verbiage) begins at $125.00.
Custom projects, or requests outside the scope of work outlined in these descriptions, may incur added costs. Ask for a quote today!
Lauren J. Sharkey is a professional writer, editor, wedding planner, and ordained minister. Ordained by the American Marriage Ministries in 2022, Lauren has been granted the legal authority to conduct marriage ceremonies. Per their website, “American Marriage Ministries [a certified IRS 501C3 non-profit church] is a non-denominational church that ordains people online so that they can officiate weddings for friends, family, and community.”
Per Pennsylvania law, Lauren J. Sharkey is qualified under 23 PA CSA §1503 as “(6) A minister, priest or rabbi of any regularly established church or congregation” to solemnize marriages.
Per New Jersey law, Lauren J Sharkey is qualified under Title 37:1-13, “every minister of every religion, are hereby authorized to solemnize marriages or civil unions between such persons as may lawfully enter into the matrimonial relation or civil union”.
Per New York law, Lauren J. Sharkey is registered with the City Clerk of the City of New York, and is able to solemnize marriages in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, and Staten Island, as well as Long Island and New York State.
Officiant Services: Lauren J. Sharkey is legally able to solemnize marriages in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York (including Long Island, the five boroughs, and NY State).
Wedding Planning Services: Lauren J. Sharkey assists couples planning weddings in New York (NYC and Long Island), Pennsylvania, and New Jersey.
